8 tips for learning a foreign language quickly and effectively.

These relate to setting goals, right resources, regular practice, focus on oral skills, using flashcards, language partners, active listening and embracing mistakes.

1. Set clear goals and decide why you want to learn that language.
2. Choose the right resources, that is good quality textbooks, language programs or apps.
3. Practice daily and regularly even for a few minutes a day.
4. Since communication is the key, try to focus on oral skills, that is listening and speaking.
5. Use flashcards and mnemonics to consolidate learning and memorize new vocabulary.
6. Find a language partner, a native speaker or enrol on exchange programs or social media platforms.
7. Practice active listening. Listen to podcasts, news broadcasts or audio books.
8. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Consider them as an inevitable phase in the learning process.
